About Us . . .
My name is Chris Doster, I am an independent baptist preacher. My wife, Kelly, and I are attending Victory Baptist College in North Augusta, SC under the direction of Dr. R. Larry Brown and Dr. Steve Hurte. I am enrolled in the Church Pastor/Pioneer curriculum and Kelly is enrolled in the Christian Education curriculum. When we graduate we want to pioneer a church.

While studying my Bible in July of 2001 God burdened my heart about the mission field here in America with these verses.

Romans 15:20-21
Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.

Our Testimonies
I (Chris) was born the first time in July 1975 to Steve and Debra Doster at the Gaston Memorial Hospital but to tell you the truth I don't remember anything about it. Now I remember this, I was born the second time on April 2, 1989 at about 7:30 p.m. at the crossing of Franklin Blvd. and Myrtle School Rd. in Gastonia, NC while riding in the back seat of a grey 1987 Mazda 323!

Kelly was born in September 1981 to Joe and Gail Johnson in Elkin, NC. Kelly was saved when she was 14 at Temple Baptist Church in Mt. Airy (Mayberry) while Gene Wolfenbarger was preaching on Hell. The thought that pierced her heart was "If you're only 99% sure, you're probably 100% lost." She bowed her head as a sinner and raised it again as a saint!

We met in 1998 and in January of 1999 at Grace Baptist Church in the Bethlehem section of Hickory, God used Hanly Milby to speak to my heart about "Diggin' In" with Kelly by my side. We were engaged in the fall of 2000 and got married September 8, 2001.

I was saved ‘yet so as by fire’ for several years until I began hungering for the Word of God and desiring for God to have first place in my life in 1995. God led me to an Independent Baptist Church where I learned many spiritual truths and the great doctrines of the Word of God. During these years I grew by leaps and bounds as a Christian. Finally, after much prayer and study of the Bible I surrendered to preach the Gospel on Friday February 27, 1998, the final night of a two week revival.

During the next few years I was blessed with many opportunities to preach the Gospel at my home church, rest homes, street ministries, radio broadcasts, youth meetings, preacher’s fellowships and in many churches throughout North & South Carolina.

After we were married in September 2001 we began serving the Lord together and God has really blessed us. On November 7, 2001 I saw ‘my’ first convert while preaching the Gospel at Peace Haven Baptist Teen Church.

2001 would prove to be a pivotal year in our ministry. On December 5, 2001 we were challenged by a message preached by Jerry Barker, a Rock of Ages Prison Ministry missionary, to trust God for something big. We decided that night, by God’s grace; we were going to trust Him for something big in our life. We began praying for God’s guidance in what He would have for us to do. God led us to Victory Baptist College in February 2002. In May 2002, during the annual VBC campmeeting, God told us to make preparations to move to Victory. We began planning the move and trying to work things out to begin VBC in January 2003. It seemed as though everything went wrong and we were just about ready to resign to defeat when God stepped in! Within three months of our apparent defeat; we sold our house, I was laid-off (with a severance package), found another job (doing the same thing for more money) and moved all of our belongings 160 miles one way to Aiken, SC for $29.95!

Since coming to Victory I have had the privilege to preach in many churches in the Southeast as well as the Coupled with Christ Sunday School class, rest homes and at the Garden City Rescue Mission. Kelly’s singing and piano playing have been a great blessing in our ministry. We are involved in the Care Ministry and the Adult Choir at Victory Baptist Church. I am also blessed to be part two outreaches of the college, the “Voices of Victory” radio ministry and the editor of “The Victory Encourager” monthly newsletter.
